The Target

DGRP Ramp
DGRP

DGRP approached us in 2019 to develop a new eCommerce website for their innovative, award-winning product, the DGRP Rollable Ramp. The goal was to market the product beyond the local area (North Bay, Ontario) and allow people to purchase the product online from both Canada or the United States.

DrivingOutcomes looked at the best options for marketing the product and have developed two eCommerce platforms (one for selling in the USA in USD and the other for selling in Canada in CAD). The website was constructed with WordPress on the DIVI framework for content and SEO, and using WooCommerce for the store and payment processing. To drive traffic, a robust social media presence was created in cooperation with the client, as well as a Facebook advertising campaign which generated significant traffic.

The project was an outstanding success.  The client exceeded all sales targets for the season and has now acquired a US patent for the ramp solution.  The product has received rave reviews and have been featured and in online magazines and other channels.

The Solution – Step 1

Build a Great ONLINE Sales Platform

  • Develop a well-designed, responsive (mobile friendly) website that properly shows your products and helps facilitate sales and new customers
  • Use a proven eCommerce framework like WooCommerce or Shopify – don’t try to re-invent the wheel!
  • Don’t turn this into an art or a computer science project – simple is best
  • Gear the elements to create user actions, not confusion
  • Make sure there’s enough well-written, relevant content to attract Google and ensure good placement in search results
  • Use an SSL certificate to secure website communication and give customer confidence

The Solution – Step 3

put your sales on auto-pilot with facebook ads

Make your sales predictable by knowing exactly how much ad spend is required to achieve your sales goals. Sales that triple your ad spend are very common. With some help optimizing your campaigns, 10 or 14x return on ad spend are achievable.

Steps

  • Setting up a campaign plan
  • Setting up and checking tracking (Facebook Pixel)
  • Building messaging and creative
  • Launching campaigns
  • Split testing
  • Troubleshooting campaigns
  • Scaling campaigns

Is it expensive to build an eCommerce website?

Not always!  It really depends on the level of customization you want and special functionality you need.  A simple turnkey eCommerce website can be developed for less than $500.  That can be a starting point to something bigger and better!

If you reach out to us for a free strategy call, we’ll assess your needs and give you affordable options (even if that means sending you to another provider!)

I want to start a drop shipping business. Is this a good option?

Products that are offered by way of drop-shipping are often extremely competitive because of the low/easy entry into an online venture.  Unique products or something that you manufacture yourself have the best chance for success.

That being said, contact us with your idea and we’ll give you our best advice on how to proceed.

Does advertising on Facebook really work?

It really does!  The key to succeeding, however, is by keeping your advertising costs as low as possible and ensuring your offer/platform will entice customers to buy.  Optimizing a Facebook advertising campaign is an art in itself.  Book a free strategy call – we’ll assess your goals and give you our best advice on how to succeed in Facebook advertising.

I want to set up a DIY website to sell my products. Is this a good idea?

It might be.  It just depends on your goals and what resources you have to work with.  It isn’t that we don’t want your business, but sometimes a DIY website really is the best place to start.  When you book your free strategy call with us, we’ll give you real, good, honest advice on how to start your venture and give yourself the best chance for success!
